Translate reviews for visitors
Show reviews from your collect page in each visitor's language. Switch it on, pick your languages and correct any translation yourself.
Translation is off until you switch it on. When it's on, reviews that customers send through your collect page are shown to visitors in their own language, on your review walls and your standalone page.
With translation off, every review shows the language it was written in, so visitors can see that you have customers from other countries. Both choices are fine; it's up to you.
Switch it on
Open Settings and find Display languages.
Tick Translate reviews for visitors. A list of languages appears.
Tick the languages you want. Your default language is always on.
Press Save at the bottom of the page.
Translation happens in the background. Reviews are translated after you publish them. Reviews waiting in your inbox, and rejected ones, are not translated, and the waiting count only includes published reviews. For reviews you already have, the Display languages card shows how many are still waiting; press Continue translating until it says "All testimonials are translated."
Which reviews are translated
Only reviews that customers sent through your collect page are translated. Reviews you imported from screenshots or typed in yourself always stay in the language they were written in, exactly as the reviewer wrote them.
Video-only reviews have no text, so there is nothing to translate.
What visitors see
A visitor whose browser uses one of the languages you turned on reads the reviews in that language. Everyone else sees your default language.
Every translated review says "Translated from …" with the original language. This note can't be turned off.
Reviews already written in the visitor's language are shown as they are.
If a translation isn't ready yet, visitors see the original text.
A translation that adds something the review doesn't contain, such as a link, an email address, a phone number or a number, is thrown away and the original is shown instead.
Correct a translation
Open Manage reviews.
On the review's row, press the translate icon (Translations). The icon shows only while translation is on and the review came from your collect page with text.
Find the language you want to fix. Each one shows its status: Machine translation, Not translated yet, Outdated (source changed) or Locked (edited by you).
Edit the text and press Save and lock.
Locked translations are never overwritten. To hand a language back to the AI, press Re-translate: this unlocks it and asks for a fresh translation. Re-translate is available once the review is published; before that you can still edit and lock a translation by hand.
Visitors only see translations of reviews from your collect page. Translations of reviews you imported or typed in are never shown on your walls or page.
If the page says "No other display languages are enabled for this space.", turn on more languages in Settings first.
Aspect names and recording questions
The names of your aspect ratings and your own recording questions are translated into the display languages you picked under Display languages when you save them. You pick those languages while Translate reviews for visitors is ticked; if you untick it later, the languages you picked are kept and still used for these names and questions. Visitors see them in their language; where there is no translation, they see your wording.
Some translations are only for you and never appear on your walls: the translation shown next to an AI reply draft, and the reference translation of a social post.
Limits by plan: The same on every plan: all 12 display languages, and translation of reviews from your collect page when you switch it on.
