Invite every customer to leave a review

Use your collect link, QR codes and ready-made messages to ask every customer for an honest review, with no rewards and no picking.

The more of your customers you ask, the more honest and useful your reviews become. Laudely gives you the link, the QR codes and the messages; you send them yourself, from your own phone, email or chat app.

The Invite customers page

Open Invite customers in your space's menu. It has four parts:

  • Collect link: your link with Copy, plus Download QR (standard image) and Download QR (for print, stays sharp when enlarged) for printing.

  • Google review link: the link to your Google review form, with its own QR codes. Add the link under Settings > General > Google review link first. Until you do, this part offers Set the link in Settings and How to find this link.

  • Invitation templates: short messages for Email, Text message (SMS) and Chat message (LINE, WhatsApp…), with your business name and collect link already filled in. You choose the customer's language and the situation.

  • How to invite well: four tips for asking, with More help, which leads to Ideas that help below.

At the top, the page reminds you to "Invite every customer, not only the happy ones." The whole page is built around that rule.

Send an invitation

  1. Open Invite customers.

  2. Under Invitation templates, choose the Customer's language. It starts as your space's default language, and you can pick any of the 12 languages customers can use.

  3. Choose the Situation: General for any time after a visit, an order or an appointment, or After the service for the day the service is done. The line under the menu says when to send it.

  4. Find the channel you want: Email, Text message (SMS) or Chat message (LINE, WhatsApp…).

  5. Press Copy next to the text. For an email, copy the Subject and the Message separately.

  6. Paste it into your own email, phone or chat app, and send it.

Both situations are fixed texts, the same for every customer, with only your business name and collect link filled in. The page keeps your language and situation in its address, so a reload or a bookmark shows the same choice.

The link inside a template opens your collect page in the language you picked, so a customer you write to in Japanese gets the form in Japanese. If you pick English, the link is your plain collect link, which opens in each customer's own language. The QR codes keep the plain link, which opens in each customer's own language.

Laudely never sends invitations for you, and you never give Laudely your customers' contact details.

See the page your customers get

Next to the Customer's language menu, a button opens your collect page in that language in a new tab, for example Open the collect page in Japanese. It opens the language you picked, English included, and your dashboard keeps its own language.

Under the button, a reminder explains testing. Reviews sent by you or your staff must never be made public (Terms of Service 10.2), so delete a test review in Manage reviews when you're done. A test is handled like any other review: AI sorts it, a 1 to 3 star review sends you an email, and it uses part of the limit of about 20 reviews an hour from one network. On Free, a test with a video counts toward your 3 video reviews until you delete it.

Ideas that help

Asking is fine; making someone leave a review before they go, or standing over them while they write, is not. Let customers review later if they prefer. The How to invite well card on Invite customers shows four of these ideas.

  • Ask in person, at checkout or when the job is done.

  • Put the QR code where customers have a free moment: the counter, table cards, receipts or takeaway bags.

  • Ask at a good moment, such as right after a meal or when customers pick up finished work, not after they've left.

  • Add your collect link to your messaging app, booking confirmations and thank-you messages.

  • Keep the ask small: "It only takes a minute." If your space has aspect ratings, customers can send stars alone; otherwise they need to write a few words.

  • Reply to reviews, good and bad, so customers can see that you read them.

  • Ask your staff to invite every customer too, with no targets or rewards for reviews. If you list them under Settings > Staff, customers can pick who served them.

  • Put a tablet at your counter in Counter tablet mode.

What not to do

  • Don't offer anything in exchange for a review: no discounts, gifts, free items, prize draws or points, even if the review doesn't have to be positive.

  • Don't invite only the customers who seem happy, and don't ask whether they were satisfied before deciding whom to invite.

  • Don't ask for a particular rating, such as 5 stars.

  • Don't pressure anyone to change or remove a review.

Google's policy for content on Maps forbids offering incentives for reviews and asking only selected customers. In the US, the FTC has said that review gating, inviting only happy customers, can be deceptive. Laudely's Terms of Service forbid both, and Google can remove reviews that break its rules.

Laudely is built the same way. The invitation templates never mention rewards, conditions or a rating, and the thank-you page shows the same review-site buttons to every customer, whatever stars they gave.

If the page says your space is locked, its collect link is offline, the QR codes can't be downloaded and there's no button to open the collect page. Send invitations once the space is back online.

Limits by plan: Free: the whole Invite customers page, with QR codes and templates for both situations in 12 languages. Starter: the same, and your reports also show which staff members customers named.
