Reviews from private messages need the customer's consent

A kind message on LINE, WhatsApp or email can go on your wall only after the customer agrees. Here's how to record that consent in Laudely.

A thank-you message on LINE, WhatsApp or email was written to you, not to the public. You can bring it into Laudely, but it only appears on your walls or your standalone page once the customer has agreed and you've recorded that.

Which sources count as private

When you choose the Platform of a review, these count as private messages: LINE, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram DM, Email and SMS. Reviews from public sites such as Google or Facebook don't need this step.

Before you import, ask the customer whether you may show their message on your website. Keep their answer, for example in the same chat, in case you need it later.

  1. In Check the recognized reviews, make sure the card's Platform is the chat app, for example LINE.

  2. Tick The customer agreed to public display on the card.

  3. Finish the import as usual.

If you leave the box unticked, the review is still imported, but it can't be published.

  1. Open Update reviews > Type a review.

  2. Choose the chat app under Platform. The box The customer agreed to public display appears.

  3. Tick it if the customer agreed, fill in the rest and press Add review.

  1. Open Manage reviews and press the pencil icon (Edit) on the review's row.

  2. In Edit testimonial, tick Customer agreed to public display.

  3. Press Save.

  • The review is kept in Manage reviews, but it never shows on your walls or your standalone page.

  • Approve & publish turns it down and reminds you to tick the box first.

  • It can't be highlighted.

If a customer changes their mind, open Edit testimonial, set Status to Approved · hidden, untick the box and press Save. Laudely won't let a private message stay Approved & public without consent.

The same box is on every imported review. If you untick it on an approved review from a public site, the review leaves your walls and shows Approved · awaiting consent.

Protect the customer's privacy

  • Private chats have no public page, so leave Source link empty when you type one in. Laudely never links a private chat to your own profile on that app.

  • If a screenshot shows no name, the card starts with a neutral one such as "LINE guest" or "WhatsApp guest". Keep it, or use a name the customer is happy with.

  • On a screenshot, use Black out details to cover names, photos, phone numbers and anyone else's messages, then press Save. Once you've saved a blacked-out copy, visitors can open it from the review's source label on your wall, and they only ever see that copy. The original stays private.

Social posts need a separate yes

Agreeing to appear on your wall is not the same as agreeing to advertising. To turn a review that didn't come through your collect page into a social post, you also tick "This reviewer personally agreed that I may use this review in advertising and social media posts." and press Save my declaration. The posts and the quote card then don't show the full name or a photo.

If the customer later asks you to stop, use Withdraw marketing consent. The saved posts are deleted, but posts you've already published are yours to take down.

Limits by plan: Free: type private messages in by hand, with the consent box, and make quote cards from reviews with your declaration (30 card images a month). Starter: the same, plus screenshot import (50 screenshots a month), unlimited card images and AI social post texts from reviews with your declaration.
