How Laudely keeps reviews honest

What Laudely does to keep your reviews trustworthy, from asking every customer the same way to clear labels, and what it asks of you.

Reviews only help you if people can trust them. This article explains what Laudely does to keep reviews honest, and what it asks of you in return.

Every customer is asked the same way

  • Your thank-you page shows the review-site buttons you chose to every customer in the same way, whatever stars they gave. There is no setting that sends only customers with good ratings to Google.

  • In counter tablet mode, the thank-you page shows no review-site buttons at all.

  • Laudely's invitation templates and tips never offer rewards for reviews, and never ask for a good rating.

What we ask of you: invite every customer, not only the happy ones. Never offer money, discounts, gifts or anything else in exchange for a review, even if the review doesn't have to be positive.

Reviews come from real customers

Don't write reviews yourself, and don't have staff, friends or AI write reviews that look like they come from customers. If someone connected to your business leaves a review, it must say so clearly.

Customers' words stay theirs

Reviews from your collect page can't be edited: not the text, the stars, the name, the title or the quote. You can publish them, hide them, remove their photos or video, or delete them.

Reviews you add by screenshot or by hand can be edited, so that you can fix reading or typing errors. Our Terms of Service forbid using this to change what a reviewer said, their rating or the meaning of the review. Blacking out parts of a screenshot is for personal details and offensive words only.

Clear labels

  • Each review card says where the review came from: "Collected directly" for your collect page, or "Provided by business" for reviews you added. The label is on by default on your review walls (Show source and verification label) and always shown on your standalone page.

  • When a review has a source link, visitors can tap the label to open the original. For a screenshot of a private chat, they can see the copy you blacked out.

  • A translated review always says "Translated from" and the original language.

  • A review a customer tidied with AI writing help always says "The customer used AI to tidy the wording and confirmed it".

The last two lines can't be switched off anywhere.

Private messages need permission

A review from a private chat, email or text message (such as LINE, WhatsApp, Messenger or an Instagram DM) can only go public after you confirm the customer agreed. You confirm it with The customer agreed to public display when you add the review, or later with Customer agreed to public display in Edit testimonial.

No average from a hand-picked set

You choose which reviews appear, so Laudely never shows an average star rating on your walls or your page. A selection should never pose as your overall score.

For the same reason, describe your wall as "reviews from our customers", not as all of your reviews. Don't advertise an average rating or a review count worked out from the reviews you picked.

When someone asks you to remove a review

If a customer asks you to take their review down, open Manage reviews and choose Approve & hide to take it off your walls and page, or Delete to remove it. Never pressure anyone to change or remove a review.

Reviewers and others can also write to support@laudely.com with the page address and which review they mean, if they want their own review removed or believe a review is illegal or breaks our rules. A person at Laudely decides on every report. Requests about a reviewer's personal data are passed on to you, because you decide how their review is used, so please answer them; we're happy to help.
